I am broadly interested in the ecology and evolution of microorganisms: How have they become so diverse and successful? What enables them to form complex communities with each other, and with multicellular eukaryotes?
I use a multitude of approaches to investigate these questions, from classical culture-based methodologies to high-throughput genomics and in-vivo animal models.
